Apprentices

Do I choose where I work?

You to choose a role to apply for and LTT can will offer advice and help you decide, based on your requirements and the needs of the employer.

Do I get paid?

All employed Apprentices must receive a wage of at least £95 per week. As training progresses and your skills develop, many employers tend to increase wages. It is not unusual for Apprentices to earn an average of £170 net pay per week.

What is the role of the employer?

Your employer will give you a full induction into the company and the role that you will be carrying out. They will provide you with the on-the-job training and pay your wages. You will have a manager at work who will be responsible for you during training.

What are the hours?

You must be offered a minimum of 16 hours of work per week to complete their Apprenticeship. However, most apprentices are employed on a full time basis.

What are the entry requirements?

Different Apprenticeships have different entry requirements. However the most important requirements are that:

You must be living in England and not taking part in full-time education.
You must be aged 16 or over. If you took your GCSEs more than five years ago and didn't gain a top grade (A or A*), or you don't have good GCSE grades in Maths and English you will need to take a literacy and numeracy test.
